Hi, I'm Rebecca Wright

I'm a visual journalist and photo editor in Atlanta.

Hi there!
I'm Rebecca, and I'm a visual journalist and photo editor based in Atlanta, Georgia.
I've always been a storyteller; I've kept a journal for as long as I can remember, I started experimenting with photography and video when I was 12 years old, and my mom still has a copy of "The Wright Family News," a quarterly newspaper I wrote and illustrated when I was six, complete with a games page and recipe section. (The Christmas Edition was a big hit.)
I've grown up, and my passion for journalism has grown, too. I believe that visual journalism has the power to influence public opinion, create change in our local and global communities, and convey the emotions of individuals authentically. I have developed a strong understanding of the importance of visuals for online news organizations, and I hope my work translates this value to others.
Currently, I'm a freelance photo editor at CNN, where I help research and select the best images for breaking news and feature stories across CNN Digital's various platforms.
I'm also a freelance photographer in the North Georgia area, working primarily with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Athens Banner-Herald.
As a member of the National Press Photographer's Association (NPPA), I adhere to their code of ethics.
In my free time, I'm likely plucking away at my ukulele, watching YouTube videos, or road-tripping to my favorite place in the states -- Asheville, North Carolina.
